Rainwater harvesting is gathering/collecting and storing rainwater. It is a practice that has been used for thousands of years to provide drinking water and water for livestock and irrigation.
Rainwater that falls on the catchment area (typically the roof of a home or building) is diverted through screens/filters into a cistern or holding tank. Optionally, after the water is diverted the "first flush" diverts the dirtiest water away from the tank.
Everyone! From homeowners to business owners, farmers and gardening enthusiasts. Systems have been utilized in schools as both a secondary water source and an educational tool. They can also be used in industry to reduce runoff pollution and production costs.
Systems range from simple rain barrels to complete set-ups that connect directly to a building's plumbing.
At NARS we have a wide range of filtration and purification options that enable you to use the collected water for either potable (suitable for drinking and cooking) or non-potable applications (for things like washing clothes, flushing toilets, and irrigation.)
Our storage tanks can be installed above ground or below and range from 100 to 10,000 gallons.
